About Me

Hi everyone!  My name is Jessica and I want to welcome you to my blog.

Jessica Wick

I was born in raised in Cleveland, OH and am proud to call it home.  As a child, my parents signed me up for every sport you can think of.  Unfortunately, swimming and skating lessons were not enjoyable to me.  But, I did enjoy playing soccer, softball, gymnastics, ice hockey, and even cheerleading.  In high school, I lettered 4 years in soccer and track and even earned 5 school records for track.  I did have some “wheels” back in the day.

My college years were spent at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania where I played Varsity Soccer all 4 years.  I was asked to join the track team my freshman year, which I did, but decided to focus my attention on soccer and let my track career end there.  It was a challenge juggling Varsity soccer and track, as well as playing for the women’s club ice hockey team…..and of course school.  I became Captain of the soccer team during the spring season of my Sophomore year and kept the honor through senior year.  We became Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Champions my Junior year and I am very proud of my team to this day for that memory I will never forget.  I started school as a pre-physical therapy major and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Exercise Science.

After college, I completed my internship at Athlete’s Performance (now EXOS) in Tempe, Arizona.  It was one of the best experience’s of my life!  I had the privilege to learn from some of the best Strength and Conditioning Coaches in the industry.  We worked with athletes from the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, and PGA on movement mechanics, energy system development, strength training, flexibility, and proper nutrition.  I was fortunate to work as a Sports Performance Coach for 6 years at a couple different locations working with professional, Olympic, collegiate, and high school athletes.  I also have worked as a personal trainer for 12 years and a Health Coach for the last 6 years.fitness

What do I do for fun?  I am sure you can guess.  I enjoy working out, walking my dogs, cooking, hiking, coaching, and relaxing in the sun.  Being from Cleveland, I support all our professional teams (even the Browns) and enjoy going to the sporting events.  Call me crazy, but I enjoy the challenge of running races and pushing myself to run longer distances.  My husband and I enjoy travelling, and recently did some hiking at five different National Parks (Zion, Bryce, Arches, Canyonlands, and The Grand Canyon) out West.  I highly encourage anyone to visit these beautiful parks.  You will not regret it.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me.  I hope I can help you on your journey to a healthier YOU!!
